Welcome to Nicodemus, a Discord bot designed to provide Bible verses and insights through publicly available APIs. By using Nicodemus, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms:

1. Services Provided

Nicodemus offers:

• Access to Bible verses from trusted public APIs
• Simple explanations or summaries of biblical topics upon request
• A resource for personal, educational, and community use

2. User Responsibilities

When interacting with Nicodemus, you agree not to:

• Use the bot for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
• Spam or overwhelm the bot with excessive commands
• Attempt to manipulate or interfere with its operations
• Impersonate the bot or rebrand it without permission

3. Content Accuracy

While Nicodemus aims to provide accurate Bible content, it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Interpretations and content accuracy depend on third-party APIs, and the bot owner is not liable for errors or misinterpretations.

4. Modifications and Discontinuation

The owner reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Nicodemus at any time without notice.

Privacy Policy

1. Information Collected

Nicodemus collects minimal data to function properly, including:

• Messages you send to the bot in Discord (for command processing)
• Server and channel IDs to respond contextually
• Basic usage logs for performance and abuse prevention

We do not collect or store:

• Personal user information such as usernames, emails, or IP addresses
• Any sensitive or private messages beyond the bot commands

2. Use of Information

The collected data is used solely to:

• Provide accurate Bible responses
• Monitor and improve bot performance
• Prevent spam and misuse of the bot

3. Data Sharing

Nicodemus does not share any user data with third parties. The bot uses public APIs (such as bible-api.com) to fetch scripture but does not transmit personal user data to those APIs.

4. Data Retention

Usage logs are retained temporarily (usually 7–30 days) for debugging and abuse prevention, and are deleted automatically thereafter. These logs are never linked to personal information.

5. Security

While Nicodemus takes reasonable measures to protect user data, no online system is completely secure. Users should be cautious about sharing sensitive information.
